Smooth, romantic, and the dance most people wish they already knew. Nightclub Two-Step flows effortlessly to nearly any contemporary song — pop, R&B, or country — and makes every slow dance feel genuinely special.
About the Style
Nightclub Two-Step was developed in the 1960s by Buddy Schwimmer and has since become one of the most useful social dances in any setting. It's the answer to the slow song — a smooth, simple partner dance that works with almost any slow contemporary ballad, pop song, or R&B track.
At DFW Social Dance Studio, we teach Nightclub Two-Step as the go-to social tool it was designed to be. The basic pattern is quick to learn, the timing is natural, and you can do it beautifully with no preparation the moment the music slows down. It pairs seamlessly with everything from country ballads to contemporary pop.
Nightclub Two-Step might be the single most useful social dance you can learn. Almost everyone has experienced a slow song at a wedding or party where they weren't sure what to do. Once you have this dance, you're never in that position again.
